ATLANTA -- Georgia could not overcome a season-high 27 turnovers in a 52-45 loss to Georgia Tech Sunday at McCamish Pavilion. Ron Santo Jersey .The Lady Bulldogs fall to 3-1 overall this season and drop their first game against Georgia Tech (4-0) since 2010, snapping a streak of five-straight wins. Georgia still leads the all-time series 34-5.Caliya Robinson led Georgia with 15 points, 13 coming in the first half, but could not overcome nine turnovers on the day.Georgia just shot 17 percent from the floor in the opening five minutes, falling behind 10-4 early in the first quarter. Pachis Roberts scored all four of those points, with a trio coming off a 3-pointer at 6:43 on the clock. Techs lead was extended to 13-4 when Francesca Pan popped out and nailed a 3-point basket at the 3:55 mark. Robinson then came off the bench and scored seven points to cut Georgia Techs advantage to 15-11 at the end of the first quarter.Georgia was held scoreless for the first four minutes of the the second frame - that was until Mackenzie Engram knocked in her first shot of the game at 5:59. Robinson continued her first-half scoring spree, leading all scorers at the half with 13 points.Even though Robinson heated up in the second quarter, Tech still held on for a 28-23 advantage at the break thanks to 11 first-half points from Zaire ONeal and two crucial 3-pointers by Antonia Peresson. After trailing for nearly 18 minutes in the first half, the Lady Bulldogs finally grabbed their first advantage of the game off a Mackenzie Engram jumper at the 6:47 mark of the third period. Georgia maintained that lead the rest of the quarter and was up by a slim 39-37 advantage at the end of the frame despite Robinson picking up her fourth foul.In a back-and-forth second half, Tech retook a short-lived 43-41 advantage before Armbrister tied it back up at 45-45 late in the fourth quarter. Georgia was then held scoreless over the next seven minutes as Tech held on for the 52-45 victory. The Lady Bulldogs now head to Bimini, Bahamas for the 2016 Junkanoo Jam and will play Minnesota on Thursday in the opening game. Sammy Sosa Jersey . But Bourque, who has missed three games with a lower-body injury, wont be in the lineup when the Habs travel to Buffalo to take on the Sabres on Wednesday. The lawyers filed a 33-page amended complaint Tuesday in federal court in Manhattan, expanding on the suit originally filed Oct. 3 in New York Supreme Court. Arbitrator Fredric Horowitz last week refused to compel Selig to testify in the grievance, and Rodriguez then walked out of the hearing without testifying.PHILADELPHIA -- Jacoby Ellsbury stole five bases and took one more home with him. David Ortiz and Jonny Gomes homered and Ellsbury set a club record for stolen bases in a game as the Boston Red Sox routed the Philadelphia Phillies 9-2 on Thursday night. Afterward, the Phillies presented Ellsbury with a base to acknowledge his accomplishment. "Its pretty neat," Ellsbury said of the record. "As long as the Red Sox have been around . Its pretty special." "Single-handedly, he changed the game," Boston manager John Farrell said of Ellsbury. "When you have that kind of base-stealing threat, its a huge asset." Ellsbury added three hits and Jarrod Saltalamacchia had two doubles and three RBIs for the Red Sox, who enter this weekends series against their AL East rival New York Yankees having won 11 of 16 games. Ellsbury was on base five times, adding a walk and hit by pitch to the base hits. "Getting on base that many times, you want to take advantage and put pressure on the defence," he said. The Phillies didnt do much to prevent Ellsbury from advancing. "He was getting a walking lead and weve got to stop that," Philadelphia manager Charlie Manuel said. Manuel also spoke a familiar refrain afterward, lamenting Philadelphias lack of offence. The Phillies have scored three runs or fewer in 31 of their 54 games this season, dropping to 8-23 when doing so. "Its a battle for us to win games," Manuel said. "We havent blown many people out. In order for us to get a winning streak, we have to score more runs." Franklin Morales (1-0) allowed four hits in five innings with two strikeouts and two walks in his first appearance this season. Four relievers closed it out with four scoreless innings. "He kept the game under control," Farrell said of Morales. "That was a solid five innings of work." Said Morales, "I got the lead and knew I had to make my pitches. I felt great today." Delmon Young homered and Domonic Brown remained hot with a pair of hits for Philadelphia, which was trying to get back to .500 for the first time since April 14. Phillies rookie Jonathan Pettibone (3-1) surrendered four runs in a 28-pitch first inning. Cesar Hernandez, filling in for injured Chase Utley (oblique) at second base, also had two hits. But the Phillies managed a total of just six hits. "We swing at bad balls," Manuel said. Morales (back) came off the disabled list and got the nod when Jon Lesters start was bumped back a day to Friday to give ace Clay Buchholz, who had been sscheduled to start Fridays series opener at the Yankees, more time to recover from a shoulder injury that forced him to miss Mondays start. Billy Williams Cubs Jersey. . Buchholz could pitch in Sundays series finale against the Yankees, though the Red Sox havent announced a starter for that game. Pettibone (3-1) hadnt given up more than three earned runs in his first seven career starts, but left after giving up six hits, striking out five and walking four in five innings. Saltalamacchias two-run double to was the big blow in the first for Boston, which got RBIs from Dustin Pedroia and Mike Carp in the opening frame. "I wasnt being aggressive early on, I wasnt finishing the batters," Pettibone said. "The plan was to pound the lefties inside. I kind of fell behind and that didnt help." After the Phillies got a pair of runs back on Youngs opposite-field, two-run homer to right in the bottom of the first, Morales kept the Phillies scoreless for the next four. "After the first inning he settled in and was making his pitches," Manuel said. Boston tacked on a run in the sixth when Gomes, pinch-hitting for Morales, hit a solo homer to left-centre off Phillies left-handed reliever Jeremy Horst to put Boston ahead 5-2. Horst hit Bostons next batter, Ellsbury, prompting home-plate umpire Bill Miller to warn both teams. And Boston took a 6-2 lead in the seventh when Ortiz led off the inning with a majestic homer to right field. Manager John Farrell lifted Ortiz, who was making his first start at first base this season, in the middle of the seventh. Despite Millers warning, Philadelphia reliever Michael Stutes and Boston reliever Mortensen each hit a batter after the caution but werent ejected. Notes: Manuel didnt play slugger Ryan Howard, who has been battling a sore knee, against the left-handed Morales. . Morales was 3-4 with a 3.77 ERA in 37 games with Boston last season. . Youngs homer was just the third in the last 33 Phillies homers that was not a solo shot. . Ellsburys previous career high of four stolen bases came on August 9, 2010 at the Yankees. . Browns homer streak ended at three games, but he has 14 hits in his last 38 at-bats after going 2-for-4. . Boston heads to New York on Friday for a showdown with their AL East rival Yankees at 7:05 p.m. Lester (6-1, 3.34) is scheduled to face New York lefty CC Sabathia (4-4, 3.96) in the first of a three-game series. . The Phillies host Milwaukee for the first of three games at 7:05 Friday night when Philadelphia left-hander Cole Hamels (1-8, 4.43) is scheduled to face Brewers righty Yovani Gallardo (3-5, 4.79). PHILADELPHIA -- Carson Wentz is throwing more and more passes, a trend his coach wants to stop. Dustin Pedroia Jersey .Philadelphias rookie quarterback has averaged 45 passes per game the past two weeks, up from 30.8 attempts over the first six games. The reason is a sputtering rushing attack. The Eagles (4-4) have had fewer than 100 yards rushing in three of their four losses. Thats partly due to falling behind 14-0 three times and quickly turning to the pass.During their 3-0 start, they averaged 119 yards on the ground.I wouldnt necessarily like to drop any quarterback back that many times, coach Doug Pederson said Wednesday. It goes back to being able to run the football and kind of hanging your hat there first and then (using) the play-action stuff. The Eagles abandoned the run early in a 28-23 loss to the Giants last week after Wentz threw a pair of interceptions that helped New York jump ahead 14-0. His first pick came on second-and-3, an ideal run situation. The second one was on third-and-5.Pederson also passed up field goals twice in the first half to go for it on fourth down and failed. The points couldve closed the gap and changed the course of the playcalling. We have put ourselves in a little bit of a bind these last couple of games, so the passing game kind of catches you up a little bit, Pederson said. But we still want to stick within the game plan, manage it that way, and use that run game to your advantage. The Eagles dont have a clear No. 1 back. Ryan Mathews, a two-time 1,000-yard rusher and former Pro Bowl player in San Diego, has lost his starting job to 33-year-old Darren Sproles. Mathews has nine carries in the last two games while Sproles ran 28 times. Rookie Wendell Smallwood and Kenjon Barner also see action. Its still a little bit of the running back by committee, Pederson said. Obviously, we havent hung our hat on one guy, but we tend to lean more toward Darren Sproles. Its hard to take him off the field right now.Sproles is averaging 4.8 yards per carry. Barner (5.2) and Smallwood (4.4) have done well in limited playing time. Mathews still leads the team with 287 yards and five touchdowns, but his YPC is 3.8. He also has two fourth-quarter fumbles, including one that led to a 24-23 loss at Detroit. The veteran Sproles is an excellent punt returner who was mostly used as a situational back throughout his career. Hes only 5-foot-6 and 190 pounds, so Pederson has to be careful not to overuse him.Weve got to make sure we keep him healthy and keep him going, especially as the season wears on, Pederson said.Wentz doesnt mind carrying the load. But Philadelphias best formula for success is a balanced offense. We struggle with consistency, Wentz said. Thats something weve got to be better with. Weve got to be better with our details, just consistency and not shooting ourselves in the foot.---AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP-NFL---Follow Rob Maaddi on Twitter: https://twitter.com/AP-RobMaaddi Jim Rice Red Sox Jersey . -- Claudio Bieler hadnt scored since early September, and not from the run of play since mid-July. Allen Craig Jersey . The winner Saturday will remain in the elite 10-team field next year. "We talked about wanting to be disciplined and stick with our game plan and good things will come," Draisaitl said, who had two goals for the victors. http://www.redsoxapparelsshop.com/luis-tiant-jersey-c-40/ . -- If this was Aaron Gordons final home game at Arizona, and it almost certainly was, then he went out in style. ELIZABETH, N.J. -- Get the calls right. Respond professionally when coaches think you got it wrong. The demands are higher than ever on NBA referees. This season theyre being told to crack down on the kind of hits to the groin area that resulted in Draymond Greens suspension during the NBA Finals, and also asked to keep a better eye on traveling.Perhaps soon there could be a fourth referee to make it easier. Someday, maybe even six.For now theres just three in a game, so the refs spent a good portion of this week watching video of calls, some correct and others that werent, in hopes of getting better.Theres always a why and a how. Why did we miss it and how can we get it, said Bob Delaney, the NBAs vice president of referee operations and director of officials. But its the why and the how also of what we do positive. Why do we get it right? Reinforce to yourself how you got it right so that youre getting it right again. The lessons in preseason camp were about more than when to blow the whistle. Delaney stresses communication, leadership, ethics and mental conditioning, bringing in guest speakers and having the crew participate in team-building games. The longtime referee relies on values he learned as a New Jersey State Trooper when working with the officials.I had an old sergeant that said to me, `You have to remember, just because you have authority, doesnt mean it has to be hurtful and demeaning. You will realize you are a professional trooper when you give out a ticket or you arrest someone and they say thank you, Delaney said.Agaiin, we dont equate whats taking place, but we see whats going on in our country today and these are the same kinds of things. Luis Tiant Jersey. So we need to model what a positive, good authority figure should be.Referees were told by coaches they came off as arrogant when they gave warnings, Delaney said, so theyve come up with words they can use to make for more positive interaction. Officials will try to avoid penalizing a player for cursing, as long as hes not cursing at someone. But they will toughen up in some areas, particularly if Green continues his habit of flailing his arms or legs after making contact with opponents in the groin area, as Golden States All-Star forward did a few times in the postseason. We told the referees the other night, you have to address it, said Joe Borgia, the NBA senior vice president of replay and referee operations. The league tested a game with four referees in the Utah summer league, and will do so a few more times in the NBA Development League. Delaney and other referee operations managers believe a better solution might be six officials, though he stressed its just in the research stage and not being discussed with the referee staff. Were constantly thinking of how can this be implemented, and then we put it on a back burner and get back to work with what we are doing and reinforcing it to them, he said.---Follow Brian Mahoney on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/Briancmahoney

MORAGA, Calif. Mitch Moreland Jersey . -- Saint Marys got a big lift from backup center Jordan Hunter when he hit a 3-point shot from midcourt just before halftime.Jock Landale, who starts ahead of Hunter, added his own signature moment early in the second half with a midcourt steal and a soaring dunk that helped get the 12th-ranked Gaels back on track after suffering their first loss of the season.Landale had 15 points and seven rebounds, Evan Fitzner added a season-high 12 points and No. 12 Saint Marys bounced back from its first loss of the season to beat UC Irvine 84-53 on Sunday night.Hunters 3-pointer was the first of his college career. That was pretty awesome, Fitzner said. That was big-time. Its a big play because going into the second half you kind of feel that momentum.Hunter rarely plays and was on the court fewer than 60 seconds when he made the halfcourt heave.I practice that all the time so it was just second nature when I let it go, Hunter said with a laugh. The ball came my way, I jumped in front of Dane (Pineau) and I just let it fly.Saint Marys (7-1) was crisp offensively most of the game and shot 56.3 percent from the floor, a vast improvement from two nights earlier when the Gaels went 16 of 51 in a 65-51 loss to Texas-Arlington.Landale, the leading scorer for Randy Bennetts team, bounced back from one of his worst games of the season to pace Saint Marys. Landale had seven points as part of a game-opening 12-3 run, then scored on an emphatic dunk early in the second half.We struggled the other night so its always good to get one back, Fitzner said. We didnt really have as good as energy as we had tonight. It always helps when youre making shots. Our guards did a good job of giving us open looks tonight.Jordan Ford scored 12 points and Emmett Naar added 10 to help the Gaels win won their third straight over the Anteaters.Eyassu Workue scored 14 points and Tommy Rutherford had 11 for UC Irvine. The Anteaters (5-6) have lost four of six.The Gaels never trailed and won for the fifth time in six home games this season. Two days after looking sluggish and out of sync in the loss to Texas-Arlington, Saint Marys shot well but couldnt shake Irvine until going on runs of 9-2 and 8-3 late in the first half.Fitzner scored seven points over the final 6:05 and Jordan Hunter added a buzzer-beating 3-point heave from midcourt to put Saint Marys up 38-25 after the Anteaters had trouble inbounding the ball. Hunter, a 6-foot-10-inch backup center, had not attempted a 3-pointer in 30 previous games with the Gaels.Bennett called it the play of the night. It changed that game, Bennett said. Going in up 13, its a difference. It really is. It helped us and then we came out in the second half and you could kind of feel the momentum.POLL IMPLICATIONSBeating an overmatched Irvine team helps the record but wont make voters forget what happened earlier in the week. The Gaels will drop from No. 12 based on their loss to Texas-Arlington and could wind up falling out of the Top 25 altogether.BIG PICTUREUC Irvine: The Anteaters showed some spark early but eventually faded. Its a matter of consistency. Too many times Irvines players stood around rather than moving without the ball. Their usual strong defense also allowed the Gaels to shoot 64 percent in the second half.Saint Marys: It might not be enough to keep the Gaels from dropping out of the rankings, but they needed to have a feel-good moment and they got it against Irvine. Getting Landale back on track is a good sign.UP NEXTUC Irvine: The Anteaters continue their five-game trip against Nevada on Wednesday night.Saint Marys: The Gaels dont leave McKeon Pavilion until conference play begins. They will host Western Kentucky on Wednesday night. Ivan Rodriguez Rangers Jersey . Defencemen Drew Doughty, Shea Weber and forward Ryan Getzlaf also scored for the Canadians, who started their gold-medal defence 2-0. Michell Burger, a woman who lives on an estate next to Pistorius gated community, said she and her husband were awoken by the screams in the pre-dawn hours of Feb. 14 last year, when Pistorius killed Reeva Steenkamp by shooting four times through a door in his bathroom. All Blacks first-five Beauden Barrett collected an Aaron Smith pass off the back of the scrum, scythed through the Irish defence and coasted towards the line. And then disaster almost struck. The newly crowned World Rugby Player of the Year, looking to ground the ball near the posts, veered in and found himself crunched by a Johnny Sexton tackle. As the pair slid past the in-goal, the ball looked briefly to have been held up by the Irish No.10, no doubt causing Barretts heart to jump right into his mouth. But thankfully for the Hurricanes whiz, the try was awarded by TMO to put his side ahead 14-3 and on the road to an eventual 21-9 win in Dublin. It couldve been a major embarrassment in what was otherwise an imperious display on foreign soil, producing the goods in attack, defence and with the boot.I shouldve just dotted down and made life easier, Barrett told reporters. The second angle didnt look good, but I knew that part of the ball had hit the ground on the first angle, so it was just a relief. The Dublin Test marked the sides first genuine sense of hardship in the post-Richie McCaw era, as the surprise winners in Chicago looked to compound the world champions misery. No side has deefeated New Zealand back-to-back since South Africa in 2009. Cole Hamels Jersey. Barrett said his side had failed to challenge Ireland with their kicking two weeks ago and looked to atone for their disappointing performance this time around. However Barretts love for the attack, instilled through countless afternoons playing footy with his brothers in Taranaki, occasionally got the better of him.Sometimes I was a little too attacking and we werent as smart as we needed to be, but I think I was better than recent weeks, the 25-year-old said.We didnt shape them enough with the kicking so we put a lot of onus on communication and calling out space. The back-to-back Tests with Ireland will serve as invaluable scouting for next years British & Irish Lions tour, with many Irish stars in line to pull on the red jumper next July.Barrett, who labelled northern hemisphere rugby more forwards-focused and set-piece heavy, said he expected to see more than a few Irishmen on Kiwi soil. Its been a challenging week, we were pretty keen to play this game last week but had to wait. Argentina looked like they gave the All Blacks way too much respect in Buenos Aires and what we ended up with was literally a game of two distinct halves. Jason Hammel Jersey . The damage had been done so far as New Zealand were concerned by halftime. The All Blacks were clinical and for skipper Kieran Read to decide at a penalty goal chance, were going to score a try and were going to camp down here until we get it, demonstrated their intent and that they were never really scared of losing the game. They looked the challenge right in the eye. That was clear in the scrums where, in the first half, the All Blacks took the Argentina pack apart. And after that they had nothing left. Argentina pride themselves on their scrum but the All Blacks demolished it and they had no game. The All Blacks defence was absolutely massive. They got up in the Pumas faces and took them apart.Anton Lienert-Brown was given a start at centre and he took it with two hands. It is actually a real concern for anyone who gets tapped on the shoulder and told they are going to be given a rest because there is a chance they may never get back again.I see Ben Smith said please dont rest me, but that may be the only way we get new players involved. In yesteryear you would have called it rotation but lets be honest, rotation was never a dirty word. Its good coaching, its developing, its giving other players an opportunity and its building a group of good players and they are expanding their selection options.Graham Henry brought in the rotation process way back when everyone said he couldnt do that, but now Steve Hansen is actually showing why he needs to do it and there can be no doubt that it is the correct thing to do. But, of course, he doesnt call it rotation and hes got away with it quite nicely. This weekend it is a case of the Springboks worrying about the Springboks. The All Blacks will have flown to Durban with a lot more work-ons which is scary. Argentina were put to the sword in the first 40 minutes, but the All Blacks line speed being was so fast that they did tend to get offside a fraction which the assistant referees were calling. But South Africa can only go back to the best game they can play. The Lions style hasnt worked for them and it says everything when they couldnt get within 10m of the Australian goal-line.The All Blacks will show respect to the South Africans - tradition demands that - but they are all fighting for positions and their biggest threat is the bloke behind them creating all the competition in the squad which brings out the best in them and it is a really good place to be.There is the other factor, the looming world record for successive Test wins. That can be a distraction. They have said that they will concentrate on what is in front of them - the next game and all that. But the record will be looming in the background.Theyll all be aware of it, its a world record at tier-one level after all, but theyve just got to be business as usual because the next game could be a banana skin if they take their eye off who they are playing. The media, the public and the fans have this feeling they are going to do it, and thats easy for us sitting on the couch or on the sideline predicting the future; but were not the guys who have to run out onto the arena and do the job. So the All Blacks want their heads focused on what that job is.And the Springboks will know that is at the back of the All Blacks minds. If there is one team that can pull out a big game just because it is the All Blacks, it is South Africa. The Boks arent playing great rugby at the moment, but they will be full of passion on home soil. Its worth remembering the 1995 World Cup final and everyone saying that all the All Blacks had to do was turn up on the day and win it. We all talk about the food poisoning and that the All Blacks werent on their game, but the reality is South Africa were fired up and were men possessed that day and they won the World Cup. That was a banana skin that no-one saw coming.Their supporters are some of the most passionate rugby fans in the world, second probably only to the Kiwis.Durban is a great place and that will probably, if anything, help the All Blacks. The climate is good; its at sea level and its a nice place to play but it is a very hostile environment at Kings Park. The fans are so close to the field and the tiers of the stadium have the crowd right on top of you. But that shouldnt faze the All Blacks; theyve all played there and South Africa is pretty much a second home to a professional rugby player. And the other interesting thing is the choice of London for the Argentina-Australia game. It was probably a good result for the Aussies because their flight to London from South Africa along the same time line would be easier than flying on to Argentina. It will have been a bit tougher for the Pumas.Being Argentinas home game it will be interesting to see how they approach it, given the sides played there last year in the World Cup semifinal where Australia claimed the win.Twickenham is one of the best stadiums in the world and theres certainly lots of Australian fans living in London and enough rugby purists to watch a Championship game. ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Andrew Luck isnt the only one who learned his lesson the last time Indianapolis and Denver played. The Broncos did, too. They entered the game with a 7-0 record a week after handing Aaron Rodgers the worst loss of his career, and they followed that by hammering Luck 11 times.Luck played through the pain and led the Colts to a 27-24 win. Afterward, he went to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a season-ending lacerated kidney and torn abdominal muscle. He is tough, we all know that, said Von Miller, whose 61 career sacks dont include any of Luck. He is going to break a couple of tackles and run through a couple of defenders, and he is going to make some great passes. We all know what type of tough guy he is.Broncos coach Gary Kubiak sure does.Well, thats Andrew. I know him well from being in Houston there for years and watching him grow up. Heck, I watched him in high school and thats what he stands for, Kubiak said. He plays the game hard and he is going to be there all four quarters, and thats something were preaching to our guys this week. While Luck missed the final two months of the season, the Broncos recovered and went on to win Super Bowl 50 thanks to Millers two sack-strips of Cam Newton that led to 15 points in Denvers 24-10 win.In the offseason, Miller signed a six-year, $114.5 million contract that included $70 million in guarantees, both records for a nonquarterback. The only player with a bigger guarantee is Luck, who signed a six-year, $140 million contract two weeks before Miller that included $87 million in assurances.Luck is more cognizant now of protecting both his body and team owner Jim Irsays investment. As a quarterback you have an obligation to be on the field, Luck said. That involves taking care of your body. Situationally, there are times when I need to slide or throw the ball away and Ive been working on that. Youre going to go out there and take a hit if the games on the line or in (certain) other situations. But I think in every year Im trying to approach the game in a better, more efficient way. So, I guess this is somewhat of a natural progression, as well.. Air Max Shoes For Women. The Broncos (1-0) hammered Newton 17 times in their Super Bowl sequel last week, although it took Graham Ganos missed 50-yard field goal in the closing seconds for them to walk away a 21-20 winner. Two of the hits, by linebacker Brandon Marshall and safety Darian Stewart, drew fines from the NFL .The Broncos insist they wont change their style in light of the consequences or criticism. No, thats part of the game, Miller said. When you step outside the boundaries you get fined. We did that a couple of times. Its kind of hard to differentiate whats right and whats wrong (during play), and everybody is moving around. Afterward, you get fined for the wrong plays and you just try to make it right and just try to keep playing.Usually, the cumulative effect of Denvers hard hits show on the QBs face and body language by the fourth quarter. With a quarterback like Andrew Luck, it really doesnt because after every hit he is shaking guys hands and congratulating them, Miller said. They should, but not going up against No. 12.Miller hasnt been able to sack Luck in three regular-season meetings and one playoff game. LOS ANGELES, Calif. Dennis Seidenberg Islanders Jersey . - With two strikes against him, pinch-hitter Lyle Overbay wanted to make sure he wasnt getting a fastball on the next pitch. Having abandoned his game plan by being overly aggressive on those first two pitches, Overbay got what he was looking for with two outs in the ninth inning. He singled on a 1-2 pitch from Paco Rodriguez to help the New York Yankees beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-0 Wednesday night. Overbay, who drove in both New York runs in a 3-2 loss on Tuesday, scored Robinson Cano, who reached on a fielders choice groundout. "My game plan was to make sure the slider stayed up in the zone and I didnt do that," Overbay said. "He finally hung one with that last pitch. Hopefully he makes a mistake and he did." The Yankees added two more runs on an error by Dodgers second baseman Mark Ellis, whose two-out RBI single drove in the winning run Tuesday. Ronald Belisario (4-6) got two outs in the ninth inning, but took the loss. He walked Derek Jeter and pinch-hitter Ichiro Suzuki, who both scored after Belisario was relieved by Rodriguez. Suzuki and Overbay scored when Ellis dropped a fly ball by Jayson Nix in shallow right field. Yasiel Puig came running in as Ellis was tracking the ball with his back to the rookie, whose left hand struck Ellis glove as the ball dropped. "It was just a popup in a weird spot and I dropped it," Ellis said. "I heard him at the last minute, but it was too late to get out of the way. Its a play that we have all the time. Its hard to hear out there." Boone Logan (3-2) got the win in relief. Mariano Rivera retired the side in order while striking out two in the ninth to earn his 34th save in 36 chances in his farewell season. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly was ejected in the ninth for arguing a checked swing call on Overbay. Former Dodgers pitcher Hiroki Kuroda and current Los Angeles ace Clayton Kershaw dueled for much of the game, with neither allowing a run. Both gave up five hits — all singles. Kuroda struck out eight and walked one in seven innings in returning to Dodger Stadium for the first time since 2011. "It was a little bit strange, but once the game started I was able to get into a rhythm," Kuroda said through a Japanese translator. "The Dodgers have a great lineup and I needed to be on my A game." Kershaw struck out five and walked none in eight innings to lower his major league-leading ERA to 1.87. Jeter went 0 for 7 with a walk as the Yankees gained a split in the two-game series. "Weve been battling since Ive been here," he said. "Hopefully we can build on this." Both teams had scoring chances in the seventh and eighth innings. The Yankees had runners on first and second with two outs in the eighth when Brett Gardner flied out to left field for the third out. The Dodgers had runners on first and second with two outs in the seventh before Skip Schumaker struck out swinging to end the inning. NOTES: Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez was scheduled to play a minor league rehab game in Tampa, Fla., on Thursday, but Yankees manager Joe Girardi had no timetable for his return to the team. ... Yankees OF Curtis Granderson was expected to travel to San Diego on Thursday and be activated for Friday nights series opener against the Padres. ... The Dodgers gifted Rivera with a custom fishing pole and a $10,000 donation to his planned church in New York. Rivera met with a select group of Dodgers employees to talk baseball as part of his farewell tour. ... The Dodgers acquired C Drew Butera from Minnesota for either a player to be named or cash considerations. Butera was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque. ... Celebrities at the game included Kobe Bryant and LL Cool J in Magic Johnsons box, Christina Aguilera, Samuel L. Jackson, Billy Crystal, Penny Marshall, Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid, and Dallas Cowboys teammates Jason Whitten and DeMarcus Ware. ... The two games against the Yankees drew combined sellout crowds of 105,460, making it the highest attended two-game set at Dodger Stadium since 107,851 saw two games against Seattle on Aug. 30-31, 1997. However, celebrating Croat fans spoiled their teams show by chanting in Serbo-Croatian, Kill, kill the Serbs in the second half, and they were echoed and followed by Kosovo fans, too, in Albanian.Kosovo became a UEFA member in May, joined FIFA a week later, and was fast-tracked into World Cup qualifying though many nations still have not recognized it.After Kosovo earned a credible draw at Finland last month, this was its first competitive home game but played in Albanias northern city of Shkodra, as Kosovo has no stadium certified by UEFA.Croatia was without star midfielders Ivan Rakitic and Luka Modric but had another star available: Mandzukic needed just six minutes to open the scoring off a pass from Andrej Kramaric.Mandzukic met Ivan Perisics cross to head home and double the lead, and completed his hat trick with another header 10 minutes befoore the interval, this time using a cross from Sime Vrsaljko, for his 27th goal in 71 internationals. Mike Bossy Jersey. ith the damage done and the result beyond doubt early, Mandzukic was substituted by Nikola Kalinic in the 58th.Its better it occurred today, and I am convinced we shall represent ourselves better at the next match, Kosovo midfielder Bernart Berisha said. There was no good communication between the defense and the midfielders.Iceland rallied in the final minutes to earn its first victory in qualifying, 3-2 over Finland.Alfred Finnbogason leveled the score in the final minute of the match, and Ragnar Sigurdsson scored the winner deep into stoppage time for the surprise Euro 2016 quarterfinalist.Hakan Calhanoglu converted from the spot nine minutes from time to salvage a 2-2 draw against Ukraine.Croatia is tied atop Group I with Iceland, on four points. Ukraine and Turkey have two points after their 2-2 draw. Kosovo is at the bottom with one.GROUP DMarko Arnautovic twice came to Austrias rescue to draw 2-2 with Wales in the group where Wales, Serbia, Austria, and Ireland are separated only on goal difference at the top.Knowing the Euro 2016 semifinalists underperformed, it was a frustrating night for Gareth Bale.We know we werent at our best tonight -- it was a difficult game, Bale told British broadcaster Sky Sports. But this is what weve grown up to do. We grind out results when we need them. When we dont play well, we defend solidly as a team, and we get something from the game. We are a little bit frustrated.Wales took the lead with a slick goal in the 22nd minute, with Joe Allen volleying into the net. It was canceled out inside six minutes by Stoke teammate Arnautovics downward header.Austria conceded again in clumsy circumstances just before halftime. Sam Vokes flicked on Bales long throw-in, James Chester prodded goalward, and goalkeeper Robert Almer saved. But the rebound hit Kevin Wimmer, who inadvertently diverted the ball into his own net.Three minutes in the second half, though, Arnautovic equalized again after seizing on Allens misdirected pass and darting through a huge hole in the Wales defense. AUBURN, Ala. Rene Bourque Jersey . -- Jeremy Johnsons career at Auburn has been tumultuous. So to be able to start the final home game of his college career, and to do well in it, was a storybook ending. One of the most memorable moments for Johnson, though, wasnt during the game.Hes led the team out of the tunnel each game this season, and it was especially emotional Saturday night. After all that Ive been through, I still love being around this team, Johnson said. Thats the most important thing for me, my teammates. The other stuff doesnt even matter.Johnson accounted for three touchdowns, and No. 18 Auburn made the most of its final tuneup before the Iron Bowl against No. 1 Alabama with a 55-0 victory over FCS opponent Alabama A&M on Saturday night.Starting in place of the injured Sean White, Johnson was 14 of 19 for 147 yards and a touchdown and rushed for two more. It was Johnsons first start of the season and the first game he received substantial playing time in since the opener against Clemson, and he led the charge for a wire-to-wire win on Senior Day.Johnson was the starting quarterback in 2015, but poor performances caused him to lose his job to White, so to see him cap his career on a high note was good for Auburn coach Gus Malzahn to see.I think everyones happy for him, I know everybody in that locker rooms happy for him, Malzahn said. It was a good night.Kerryon Johnson ran for 108 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries before being lifted for freshman Kam Martin at halftime. Kerryon still wasnt 100 percent healthy from his lingering ankle issue that has hampered him since he suffered it against Mississippi State last month, but Malzahn said hes getting close. He wasnt the only Tiger on the mend Saturday.Running back Kamryn Pettway, who entered the week atop the SEC leaderboard in rushing, missed his second consecutive game with a left leg injury. Among the other Auburn players to sit out the final home game of the season were running back Stanton Truitt, H-back Chandler Cox and cornerback Carlton Davis.Auburn (8-3, No. 15 CFP) outgained Alabama A&M (4-7) 598-130, and had its first shutout since the first game of the 2008 season.I think that was one of (the defenses) goals coming in, to get a shutout, Malzahn said. Its so hard to get a shutout, and our defense has played excellent all year...any time you get a shutout, its something special.Malzahn let Johnson orchestrate the offense while he was in during the first half, and he filled in well for White. The Auburn defense let out its frustration from last weeks loss on the Bulldogs, who didnt eclipse 100 total yards until late in the third quarter. We got beat by a better team, I can tell you that for sure, Alabama A&M coach James Spady said.John Franklin III ran for 81 yards and a touchdown on four carries in mop-up duty for Johnson, and Martin finished as the leading rusher with 176 yards and a pair of touchdowns -- all in the second half -- thanks to a few long runs.DeAngelo Ballard was 15 of 39 for 103 yards for the Bulldogs.POLL IMPLICATIONSNo. 18 Auburn likely wont see a huge shift in its place in the polls, but the Tigers could move up a few spots based on the results of some other games.MARTINS MILESTONEWith his 176 rushing yards, Kam Martin becomes the 10th player under Gus Malzahn to rush for 100-plus yards in a game. Kamryn Pettway and Kerryon Johnson joined that club earlier this year.THE TAKEAWAYAuburn gets to rest some of its players that will be key in next weeks regular-season finale while picking up its eighth win of the season.Alabama A&M ends the year on a sour note, but the Bulldogs showed some fight against an SEC powerhouse.UP NEXTAuburn travels to Tuscaloosa next week for the Iron Bowl against No. 1 Alabama.Alabama A&M has wrapped up the season.---More AP college football: www.collegefootball.ap.org and https://twitter.com/AP-Top25 Mikhail Grigorenko Jersey .ca looks back at the stories and moments that made the year memorable. They had already blown a double-digit lead, fans were hitting the exits, and a long seven-game road trip waited at the end. LONDON -- In recent years, Serena Williams has been prone to slow starts, particularly against far lesser players. And in some of those matches, she never recovered. On a glorious sunny afternoon at the All England Club, Russian Elena Vesnina stepped onto Centre Court, the latest potential banana peel hoping to trip up the No. 1-seeded Williams. This time, the 34-year-old Serena did not slip. Not even close. With the calm, measured performance of a six-time champion, Williams completely unstrung the unseeded Vesnina 6-2, 6-0 to advance to her ninth Wimbledon final (Saturday, 9 a.m. ET on ESPN/WatchESPN). It was clinical, almost cruel.I felt like I had no chance today, Vesnina said later. She was in a great mood, and her serve was working really well for her. She had a really high percentage of first serves. She was placing it amazingly.Said Serena in her postmatch BBC interview: I was really focused today. ?I was ready. Its never easy out there. Every point you have to fight for.Really? It sure didnt look that way on Thursday.Match time: 48 minutes -- in the semifinal of a Grand Slam, no less. Its been 17 years since a semifinal was over that swiftly. You had to feel for the shell-shocked patrons at Centre Court, who paid 126 pounds ($164) for the privilege of watching. It was over so quickly that organizers delayed the start of the second semifinal to ensure that all spectators had a chance to arrive, causing a murmur to ripple through portion of the crowd already in attendance. The only drama after that emphatic result: Would Serena play her older sister Venus or No. 4 seed Angelique Kerber in Saturdays championship match? It turned out to be Kerber, who had upset Serena earlier this year in the Australian Open final.?I felt like she played great, Serena said of that match. She came out swinging, ready to win. She was fearless. Thats something I learned. When I go into a final, I, too, need to be fearless like she was.The numbers were almost unreal: Serena lost only three points on her serve in the entire match, winning 28 of 31 points. She was a perfect 12-for-12 in the second set. Sixty-one percent of those serves (including 11 aces) did not come back. All told, Serena won 53 of 74 points, a beatdown of ridiculous proportions, considering the stage. This is the best weve seen her from start to finish all year, said U.S. Olympic coach and ESPNN analyst Mary Joe Fernandez. Joe Colborne Avalanche Jersey. Vesnina, to her credit, had been an overachiever here. She began the year ranked outside the top 100 and, just short of her 30th birthday, had climbed back to No. 50 with her best career result in a Grand Slam. Oddsmakers installed her as a 14-to-1 longshot, which in retrospect seems a tad optimistic.Serena has now been the WTAs No. 1-ranked player for 177 weeks in a row and seems destined to break Steffi Grafs record of 186 consecutive weeks on top. The other Graf milestone, however, is the one she really wants. After failing to win the past three majors -- losing in the finals of this years Australian Open and French Open -- Williams still finds herself one victory shy of Grafs Open era record of 22 Grand Slam singles titles. Now shes only two sets away.I think for anyone else in this whole planet, it would be a wonderful accomplishment, Serena observed. For me, its about obviously holding the trophy and winning, which would make it a better accomplishment for me.For me, its not enough. But I think thats what makes me different. Thats what makes me Serena. The fact that shes doing this at 34, closing in on 35, is extraordinary.Shes already the oldest woman to win a major in the Open era, a feat she accomplished here a year ago at the age of 33. And now she can extend that record by another year.In a moment typical of the match, Vesnina was serving at 0-2 in the second set, down a break. Her second serve was clearly wide, but she challenged. Even when the replay showed the ball several inches wide, she seemed perplexed and stood still for a while longer.Afterward, you had to laugh.I think [Vesninas] saving herself for doubles, John McEnroe cracked during the BBC broadcast, referring to the quarterfinal match in which Vesnina and partner Ekaterina Makarova are scheduled to take on the Williams sisters.Serena didnt sound like someone content to merely approach the finish line. Those losses to Kerber in Melbourne and Garbine Muguruza in Paris -- especially now -- are clearly still at the forefront of her mind. Its weird, Serena said. I cant believe Im in the finals again.Obviously, Im 0 for 2 [in major finals this year], so Im determined to get at least one this year.Obviously. NEW YORK -- It is called football, after all. Nike Air Max 2018 Mens Shoes . And in Week 1 of the NFL season, the kicking game has been critical, from the season opener on Thursday night through the finale of Sundays first full day of action.Matt Prater knocked his 43-yard field goal through to lift Detroit past Indianapolis, his 13th winning or tying field goal with under 4:00 to play in the fourth quarter or in overtime.Chandler Catanzaro missed his potential winner from 47 after a bad snap, and New England escaped at Arizona.Mike Nugent came through for Cincinnati against his former Jets team, and Graham Gano failed for Carolina vs. Denver.Five kickers botched 33-yard extra points, though four of their teams won. The Jets Nick Folk, whod never missed a PAT in his 10-year NFL career, saw his string of 312 straight makes end. Plus, he had a field goal blocked in a 23-22 defeat.I feel like I let the team down, Folk admitted. If we make the extra point and the field goal, they need a touchdown at the end. That would have put us up six, so its just frustrating from my end.He gets an early chance to make up for it: We have a game in four days (at Buffalo), so we have to bounce back pretty quick. No kicker had more to bounce back from since last season than Minnesotas Blair Walsh. He infamously shanked a 27-yard field goal on the final play of a wild-card game against Seattle in January, and had to live with that memory until Sunday. Then he missed two field goals and an extra point at Nashville before snapping out of his funk and connecting on four field goals in a 25-16 win.Its nice to bounce back with four field goals, and we won the game, said Walsh, who was supported by coach Mike Zimmer afterward. They were important kicks. But, man, you want to take the drama out of it, thats for sure. There was enough kicking drama this week to fill a soap opera. Not all of it involved placekickers, either.Catanzaros wide-left boot came after a bad snap from rookie Kameron Canaday. That sparked the usual criticism from afar of the Cardinals for saving money on the position.Jaguars punter Brad Nortman landed consecutive kicks at the Green Bay 3 that flipped the field and helped Jacksonville take a 10-7 lead. Those punts didnt seem so significant at games end in Green Bays 27-23 win, but they helped keep the Jags in it early.A 17-yarder by Chargers rookie Drew Kaser certainly played a major role in San Diego blowing a 21-point lead at Kansas City and falling in overtime. The Chiefs took over at the San Diego 42 and marched to the tying touchdown.Chargers coach Mike McCoy didnt exactly distinguish himself by opting to have Josh Lambo try a 54-yard field goal on fourth-and-2 while up 27-10 earlier in the fourth quarter. No good.McCoy had been told by special teams coach Craig Aukerman that Lambo was crushing the ball.He had all the confidence in the world before the game, McCoy said of Lambo, so I had all of the confidence in the world, too.Saints rookie kicker Wil Lutz, a late signee after spending the preseason in Baltimore, was 2 for 4 on field goals and made his four extra points in a 35-34 loss to Oakland. And its hard to blame him for missing a desperation 61-yarder on the final play.Somewhat embarrassingly, though, Lutz and holder Thomas Morstead began hugging in celebration on that last kick before it faded short. For all of the made and missed field goals, the sublime and sickly punts, possibly the most noteworthy footwork in Week 1 came on kickoffs. With touchbacks now coming out to the 25-yard line instead of the 20, there is added incentive to pooch the kickoffs and have them drop inside the 5.Naturally, it was 2015 All-Pro Stephen Gostkowski doing the brilliant kicking for the Patriots.Four of his six kickoffs didnt enter the end zone, and Arizonas final drive started at the 8 (including a Cardinals penalty). Our kickoff team, we went into the game feeling like we had to make some field position plays in the kicking game, coach Bill Belichick said. You dont want to put their offense on a short field. If you can pile a few more yards onto the drive, hopefully it works in your favor. I know there was a lot of sentiment to eliminate that play, but those are the kinds of plays that are good strategy plays in football.Certainly, we had an opportunity to kick it out of the end zone on the last kickoff, but with a good field goal kicker, a good offense, good quarterback, we try to put them on as long a field as we could.Yep, keeping the foot in football.---AP Pro Football Writers Teresa M. SPRINGFIELD, Mass. Matt Garza Jersey . -- When Shaquille ONeal was 10 years old, his father made a prediction.Friday night when his son became a Hall of Famer, it was realized.Shaq and Allen Iverson headlined the 10-member Class of 2016 enshrined into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. One of the most star-packed classes in recent memory, it also featured international star Yao Ming, WNBA great Sheryl Swoopes, coach Tom Izzo, and owner Jerry Reinsdorf, an architect in the Michael Jordan-led Chicago Bulls championship teams of the 1990s.If I know my father, hes up there arguing with Wilt (Chamberlain) that his son is the best big man in the game, Shaq said.Posthumous honorees were: 27-year NBA referee Darell Garretson; John McLendon, the first African-American coach in a professional league; Zelmo Beaty, the former NBA and ABA star who led Prairie View to an NAIA title in 1962; and Cumberland Posey, who is also a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame.Shaq was an instant box office draw during his career because of his mammoth frame and rim-shaking dunks. But he also exhibited a personality that was as playful was it was engaging. He showed off all of it on Friday. He had the final speech of the night, a humorous dissertation that spanned his long journey in the sport. His speech had serious moments like thanking his parents, Phil Harrison and Lucille ONeal, for giving him the discipline and drive that drove his NBA dream. But he also tossed in light moments. He thanked former Lakers teammate Kobe Bryant for helping him win three NBA titles, but also for getting me pushed off the team and traded to Miami. Before host Ahmad Rashad could even introduce Iverson, the first mention of his name started a roar of cheers throughout the assembled audience.Dressed in all black, former MVP known as A.I., blew kisses has tears began to form in his eyes.Thank God for loving me and blessing me, Iverson said, to be the man that I am and having no regrets for the man that I am. A man that my family loves, my teammates love and my fans love.Fighting tears throughout, Iverson thanked former Georgetown coach John Thompson for saving my life.(After) the incident happened in high school and all that was taken away...no other schools would recruit me anymore, Iverson recalled. My mom went to Georgetown and begged him to give me a chance. And he did.He said he later left Georgetown only as an OK basketball player. But once I started to listen to Larry Brown and take constructive criticism, I learned how much of a great, great coach that he really is. ... Thats when I became an MVP.Iverson saved his final thank you for wife Tawanna.Youre just the best to me, he said. I want you to walk around and be proud of yourself that you are a Hall of Famer. Two of the themes on the night were family and journeys. That was the essence of Swoopes speech, who was thankful of her path from tiny Brownsfield, Texas, and that her cancer-stricken mother, Louise, was able to see it.What a ride its been, she said. The 7-foot-6 Yaos arrival from China to the NBA in 2002 instantly helped bring the game to a broader international audience. He was Fridays first inductee, an honor which he joked that should have gone to Iverson. You know why? Because I need more practice than him, Yao said to applause from the crowd and a laugh from Iverson.Yao also thanked his early mentors in China, former NBA Commissioner David Stern for his vision in wanting Yao to play in the league, as well his first teammates on the Houston Rockets. He also singled is former NBA coaches, including Rudy Tomjonavich and Jeff Van Gundy.I will always consider you my family, Yao said. I am Texan and Houston Rocket for life.Izzo has become the face of the blue-collar Michigan State team while leading it to seven Final Fours and the NCAA championship in 2000.He thanked his parents, Carl and Dororthy, for being his first mentors. The 90-year-old Dorothy was in attendance, but Carl passed away last September.Izzo briefly got choked up as he spoke of his father, who he said instilled in him a work ethic that remains with him today. The seven Final Fours and championship are just frosting on the cake, Izzo said.Reinsdorf, the longtime Bulls owner, chronicled what led him to purchase the Bulls in 1984. It was a move he said legendary New York Yankees coach George Steinbrenner panned, telling him hed never make any money. He enjoyed proving him wrong. Its been a great life, he said. I know its the fourth quarter, but Im hoping for overtime.Like his father, Shaq too has a wish. One day when some father quizzes his sons on the greats of the game, I hope Shaquille ONeal will be the answer, he said.---Follow Kyle Hightower on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/khightower Robin Yount Jersey .
